Introducing ‘Friction Lamp’ (order on request). While this project began with a client’s commission to refurbish an old standing light, we ended up creating something that we are ready to manufacture and customize on request.
The lamp has old wooden legs and we draw attention to the junctions where old and new materials meet. The light canopy is fabricated from four hand-beaten stainless steel sheets that come together to form a sculptural top.
Its reflective finish engages with both the central and ambient light sources to create engaging shadows. The piece is assembled entirely using dry joinery, allowing for ease of construction and disassembly.
